The CC is Volkswagen’s luxury four-door coupe. It was first introduced in 2008, and since then it has provided drivers with a fun vehicle that has all the trimmings. For 2017 Volkswagen has only made some minor updates including streamlining the trim levels. Here are some of the details you should know about the 2017 CC.
Exterior
The outside of the CC is slim and stylish. It is a four-door coupe with a bold looking front fascia. While the CC is often compared to the Passat, the 2017 has a much more curvy design than the straight Passat, and it has a more rounded front end. The windshield is steep with a coupe-styled roofline and rear windows that slope nicely down. The taillights offer a unique design that even spells out the name of the vehicle.
Trim Levels
Choose from two different trim levels starting with the CC Sport. This will get you Bi-Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights along with 17-inch alloy wheels. The higher level R-Line Executive trim comes with 18-inch Montauk wheels and a panoramic sunroof as a standard feature. The exterior is also updated with R-Line sport bumpers and side sill extensions.
Engine
The standard engine in the Volkswagen CC is a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission with a sport mode to make the drive more fun, and a sport-tuned suspension to help provide a smooth ride with responsive steering. You’ll also find paddle shifters located right near the steering wheel so you can quickly shift through the gears. The CC has a quick acceleration and a transmission that shifts efficiently through the gears to get you from zero to 60 in just 6.5 seconds.
Interior
Inside the CC you’ll find a two-toned color scheme with leather seating. A panoramic sunroof with an available power tilting option allows you to let the sun shine in, and the driver can keep track of how they are doing with the multi-function computer display with features such as trip time, average speed, and fuel consumption. A navigation system is standard in all the models and is displayed on the large touchscreen. This is ergonomically placed within easy reach and includes an infotainment system with access to music and podcasts, as well as app integration with smart phones.
Safety Features
The CC includes many new safety features. You can expect to see driver-assist systems such as Volkswagen’s Car-Net, and an Autonomous Emergency Braking system to help you stay safe on the road. Other driver assist systems include Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning to help keep you in your lane and steer you back if you start to drift. There is also adaptive cruise control and a rearview camera in all the models.
The Volkswagen CC sedan is a luxury vehicle made for families. For those who like the Passat but want something more, the CC has a powerful engine that will get it up and going even considering the vehicles weight.
