Koka Booth Amphitheatre
If you’re looking for some musical entertainment, head to Koka Booth Amphitheatre (pictured above). Here you’ll be able to take in a live concert outdoors. Over the years, the venue has hosted a number of amazing performers, including John Mayer, Willie Nelson, and more. During the summer, Koka Booth Amphitheatre hosts the North Carolina Symphony Summerfest Series. Tickets for children two years old and younger are free on the lawn for any event, and Movies by Moonlight and Summerfest Series offers free tickets on the lawn for children 12 and under.
Hemlock Bluffs Nature Center
Those who enjoy the outdoors should head to the Hemlock Bluffs Nature Center for some outdoors adventures. This is one of the few North Carolina state preserves. This nature center offers refuge for a number of animal species, from mammals to arachnids. When you’re at the nature center, you can attend one of the educational programs offered throughout the year, and you can request a custom program for birthday parties, scouting troops, and more. There are several hiking trails you can take throughout Hemlock Bluffs Nature Center, including Chestnut Oak Loop, Beech Tree Cove Loop, and Swift Creek Loop.
Chatham Hill Winery
At the Chatham Hill Winery, you can taste a variety of wines, purchase your favorites, and even participate in events which includes trivia nights, paint parties, and wine and cheese pairing sessions. The Chatham Hill Winery offers annual wine club memberships for those who love to try a variety of wines. Tours and wine tastings are offered daily and cost $10 per person, unless otherwise announced. The tours include presentation and tasting of eight wine sample, a souvenir glass, and a discount if you make a purchase during your visit. You can also set up private parties, events, and after hours private tastings by contacting the winery.
Cary Arts Center
If you love performing and visual arts, you don’t want to pass up the Cary Arts Center. The center features a theater with 425 seats with performances happening regularly. There are art studios featuring woodworking, jewelry, clay, and more. The Cary Arts Center offers classes throughout the year, allowing you to learn more about your favorite art style. Several of the studios are part of the Open Studio Program, allowing you to come in and use the studios to work on your own projects.
